My wife and I have tried various superstores over the years: Aldi, Tesco, Morrison’s, Asda, Sainsbury’s... in the end, we always go back to Tesco, as for us they have the best price/quality ratio. Some other chains may be cheaper but watch out for what you are buying, I've had some bad experiences... so Tesco is the way to go for us.
For me Tesco is the top, vegetables are good quality and meat is really, really good. Plus, prices are reasonable. Other chains may have lower prices, but we found that quality was also lower so we came back to Tesco.
Super handy to have Tesco so close and open 24 hours. We find it very convenient and if you can pick the right time it's not overly crowded, almost relaxing to buy there at certain times I would say. Overall I recommend this Tesco.
Last time I went to Tesco Extra in Portsmouth to buy some fruit and vegetables, only when I came back home did I realize that many apples and potatoes were bruised. It's true, it is my fault because I picked them, I was kind of in a rush, but one should expect from a Tesco store to find better products. This is the firts time this happens so I will give it one more chance, but was a bit disappointed with the experience.
We went to Tesco to buy an home theater system, the staff girl (so sorry, don't remember her name) was very competent and polite, even if she was extremely busy and multiple customers were asking questions and interrupting all the time. So kudos for her patience, we ended up buying a Sony model and are super happy with it.
We recently purchased a large TV from Tesco and we were served by Stuart who was very helpful and he even loaded the TV onto a trolley and pushed it out to our car. We were very pleased with the service we received!
