Friends had recommended this cafe to us, and so we decided to go one sunny Sunday. The cafe is very welcoming and clean. The menu was extensive, the food arrived promptly and was really tasty. We were all pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and how affordable it was.
I would definitely recommend this garden centre cafe.
Great place! Wide selection of food and drinks at the restaurant. The food was delicious, really good value. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere and is lovely. The cakes are absolutely glorious, and it was a really new and nice experience to have dessert in the carriage! Staff were polite and friendly, too. We will definitely be visiting again very soon.
The restaurant is part of the garden centre. In the main room you can order pub style food, while in the carriage you can only order coffee/tea and cakes.
We went for Sunday lunch with friends. Food was nice, with good portions, and desserts were really good, probably the best part.
However, service left something to be desired. I was served a cake on a bowl which was clearly dirty. When I mentioned this to the waitress she said she was sorry but they were really busy that day and they didn't normally use those bowls... She did not offer a replacement, which is totally unacceptable!!
So, food overall is good but service sloppy and needs more than a few improvements.

Food was very disappointing, I have spent the rest of the evening with tummy ache, not sure if it's the food or how stressed I felt! The table was booked over 4 weeks prior and no one explained you are not allowed to sit and eat a cooked meal in the train carriage, they will only allow cake and tea/coffee in the carriage!
Never ever again such a shame, it only takes one bad egg to make a rotten mess and sadly that's exactly how this experience went a rotten mess that has left a terrible taste in our mouths!
Never seen a garden centre like this. Looked like it had been abandoned for ages. Weeds every where. The plants all drooping from lack of water. Didn't see one staff outside, all were in the restaurants, or on the tills. Wouldn't buy a plant from here, doubt it would get home alive. Shan't ever go again. G. Stevens
Lovely roast beef lunch yesterday. A little wait is worth it for fresh veg and piping hot plate, and we were impressed enough to indulge in the apple and blackberry pie afterwards. I didn't need to eat again until a very late snack! Good value for money at £6.75 for a roast, and very friendly service. Not my first visit and I hope to come again. It would have been 5 stars if the restaurant had been a little warmer.
