Grange Gifts in Shanklin

Visited Saturday 20th July 2016. A very rude lady on the til in an otherwise empty shop told my Scottish and short sighted partner to "stop sniffing the belts like a dog!" and when he tried to explain he was trying to work out whether they were leather as the display said real leather but some of the belts were labelled "other materials" she told him "Can't you read! look at the sign...it says real leather!" then came a further torrent of abuse "If you don't like it you can leave...just leave the shop and go back to where you came from!" We are taking this up with the tourist board and equality advisory service as she was not only rude and offensive but discriminatory. It was uncalled for, out of order, unacceptable. We are both in our 50's and had enjoyed a relaxing week on the Isle of Wight. We called in to browse the shop and look for some souvenirs. We were totally shocked at this shop keepers attitude. I am sure it is a pattern which will repeat. I wonder whether she is fit to be in charge of a shop?

Visited today and was met by a very rude lady who obviously does not like kids....even though mine had not done anything wrong. She complained because I had picked a non delicate item up and my son took hold of it and showed his sister....all under my supervision. She tried to grab it to put it back but I put it back instead. I said to my family that we should go and this woman said "I wish you would".

We had done nothing wrong and was shocked by this abuse. She then went on to moan about the kids, who were well behaved. She told us to F off in the end and then moaned at me for arguing in front of the kids.

I would never step foot in that shop again and quite frankly she ruined a good day in Shanklin as we are not used to this kind of thing.
