Visited Pantiles Camera Shop in Tunbridge Wells on Monday Mar 3rd, prime reason was to look for a ND filter such as the Lee Big Stopper or similar.
Very disappointed in the lack of knowledge of the staff in the shop, very keen to ask if we needed help but not a lot of point in that if they dont even know of a major filter supplier. I can accept that they might not choose to stock the item but they had no alternatives or fundamental understanding of ND filters.
We did buy a camera bag as it was my wifes birthday and she wanted something camera related.
I like everyone else use the internet but I also support my local businesses and if they can match or compete I use them for personal service. My wife bought her camera from Pantiles in Sevenoaks. If these shops are to survive then people need to want to return because of the service they received, alas I won't be going back here again.
