I took my car to this garage with what appeared to be an electronics problem (It would clear when the engine was switched off then back on again).
As they specialise in Mitsubishi I asked them for a detailed diagnostics check. From research, and two previous diagnostics checks at other garages, I had an idea what the problem was. I just needed confirmation.
They insisted the problem was mechanical, the turbo bearings had failed !... even though it always ran properly, and silently, when restarted. They wanted nearly £1600 to fix it. I refused. They then charged me £158.
When I drove the car out it was making an awful noise, so I took it to my usual garage who had to then change the (suddenly failed) turbo. After this, the original fault was still there! Indicating the problem WAS NOT the turbo at all. The garage then replaced an item which cost £180. Car fixed!
I emailed Bulldog Garage’s chief executive, Mr S Hodder, twice. No reply the first time, the second time he promised a response within two days. He never did.
Their customer care is appalling. Avoid.
