Classic Fireplaces in Brunswick Village, Newcastle Upon Tyne

I've had 2 wood burning stoves installed by this company and cannot agree with the previous comments. I've dealt with Gregg since 2007 and have always found him and his partner as well as Duncan the installer extremely helpful, taking great care and cleaning up thoroughly after the work was completed. Gregg has always been friendly and even reserved a stove for me for 8 weeks until I was ready to have it installed. A great service and I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them again.

I agree with the review above, Gregg, the man I spoke to at this business has an appalling attitude to customers. My elderly mother picked out an electric fire from his showroom. The fire was ordered and I went to collect it within a few days. When I opened the box the fire was in several pieces clearly needing assembly since my mother aged 96 was not capable of putting it together, nor myself I called the shop. Gregg condescendingly reported he had never been asked to put a fireplace together but would come in a few days if we called him again or he would do it that day. I returned the fire to him immediately and left it for him to complete. 3 days later after I called him again, he delivered the fire in the same condition I had given it to him, still in a few parts and free standing, in my opinion unsafe. He was very rude about my not having 'asked him nicely in the first place' and walked out of the house ranting. I found this totally unacceptable behaviour from anyone let alone a businessman. I will not be spending money at this business ever again and suggest you don't.

I called up to get advice from this shop regarding why the fire from the house I recently moved into wasn't blowing out hot air. Mr Bowman who I spoke with was by far the rudest man I have ever spoken too. He lost his temper & called me a liar whilst shouting at me. All I simply explained was that the previous home owners had not changed or removed anything from the fire. I honestly could not believe the way I was spoken to, all I wanted was some advice of how to make the fire work with my new born baby in the house. He wants to be completely ashamed of himself for speaking to not only a customer, but any person in the manner he spoke to me. Incredibly rude & unhelpful to say the least.
