Pet Medics in Worsley, Manchester

My 14 month German Shepherd was admitted here after he sneaked into a handbag and ate 6 Ibuprofen tablets. My own vet couldn't give him 24 hour care after advising us he would have to stay in over night.
He spent the next 48 hours at pet medics on a drip to flush out his system (I am happy to say that he is now well a week later).
On arrival the reception staff were very friendly and had all of our details ready following our vet faxing over the information.
We took our seats in the waiting area which is a large size and very clean. Although we had to wait over an hour to see the vet, we didn't mind as the animals are seen on a priority basis and we appreciated that some of the animals were really sick and needed more urgent attention.
We finally took our dog into the surgery and the vet confirmed the information our own vet had sent through and explained that it would cost between £500 - £600 depending on how he goes and explained to us that they needed to monitor his kidneys and digestive system with blood tests. The vet told us that we could give them a call before we went to bed that night to see how he had settled in and to put our mind at rest, which we did.
We are insured (which is worth every penny) and the reception staff advised us that they could currently liaise with our insurance company direct (this depends on who you are insured with, so you need to check with the receptionist). We'd already paid £287 to our own vets (who wouldn't liaise), so they said we didn't need to pay the excess as we'd already paid over the excess amount to our own vet. They gave us some information leaflets with all their contact details and the times the vets got together to discuss the animals and when to expect phone calls etc. We could have also booked an appointment to visit him, but we decided against that because we didn't want to distress him more by leaving him again.
We were called the following 2 days with progress updates and to arrange a time to collect him.
We completed all of the relevant insurance forms on arrival and after a short wait the door to the waiting room opened and our dog came bounding through to us, excited to see us with the vet dragged along behind him. The vet gave us some medication for him to take for the next 5 days.
I can't thank all of the staff enough for looking after him. I would 100% recommend them, we were kept informed all the way through the process and they made us feel that they appreciated how important our dog is to us and that he would be well looked after in their care. Thank you Pet Medics.
