The Neuadd in Llangattock, Crickhowell
The Neuadd
We were unfortunate enough to stay here from 19th - 26th September 2015. Cottage was warm and bed reasonably comfortable. Those are the only plus points. Cottage filthy, mould growing on dishdrainer and around shower cubicle, also shower very poor and cubicle cracked too. Sofa very uncomfortable and starting to come apart, (owner not interested when we tried to show her) we had to clean kitchen as all the plates, cutlery etc dirty and worktops sticky. Fridge freezer had been unplugged by previous occupants, when we opened the freezer door water cascaded out and we had to clear up and bail out remainder of defrosted water before we could turn appliance back on, also didn't seem to get very cold in fridge despite trying to adjust temperature. On arrival the key was left in a key safe, fine by us however the owner didn't bother to come across to check everything was ok we just accidentally bumped into her on the Monday after our arrival on the previous Saturday. We had to recycle as much as possible but were told to use facilities in next village not the owner's also the recycle/rubbish area was full to overflowing with disgusting smelly bin bags. We complained to Brecon Cottages and also left a feedback letter for the owner. The owner informed us the cottage (Valley View) was due for an upgrade in the Winter, this may be so but no excuse for filthy condition. Brecon Cottages (agency we booked through) were unhelpful and have yet to resolve our complaint, they have offered us 10% off any other boking we may make in the future, no way won't use them again. They asked why we hadn't complained sooner I told them we would normally have complained, however I was ill from Monday lunch time until Thursday, had to get anti biotics from Doctor and spent some time in bed resting whilst Husband went out with the dog we chose to go home a day early on the Friday, as I had spent a considerable amount of time in bed I was too exhausted to bother to contact Brecon Cottages, we have told them this but they still don't want to know. We shall never use Brecon Cottages to book through again and take our advice don't book Ty Neuadd cottages either (don't confuse these cottages with Ty Neuadd at Pencethlli)
