Avante String Trio is a contemporary string trio who focus on playing their own unique string arrangements jazz standards with improvisation. Avante String Trio is a contemporary string trio who focus on playing their own unique string arrangements of jazz standards with improvisation. The members of the trio originally met, and still work under, the Tomorrow's Warriors StringTing & JazzStrings programmes. All members are being guided and mentored by Gary Crosby, however they arrange all their own music as a trio and perform everything by memory. In 2016 they have performed as a trio in various venues including the the Southbank Centre, The Cockpit Theatre, & Ray's Jazz Club, as well as having been featured in festivals such as EFG London Jazz Festival and the Woman of the World Festival. They also ran two jazz workshops under TW for classical players interested in transitioning into jazz at Southbank Centre as part of the Yehudi Menuhin Centenary Week, earlier this year.
