River View Touring Park in Pontarddulais, Swansea

Please read this before you think of booking on this camping site!!!!
We visited River View Touring Park on 06/08/2015 and thought it to be a well maintained place, we had a good reception on arrival and showed to our pitch, which we thought was great, the field was small and would probably hold around 15 caravans with tents and the like in between.
Our first experience with the manager of the site was pleasant, "he owned with his wife the first caravan on entry to the pitch". We were there that evening and thought it so peaceful that we would book our caravan there in celebration of my 50th birthday this coming September. But then on that same evening after we paid £160 for the week in September our friends came down in their campervan, we invited them over and we sat in our awning just socialising and sharing a bottle of wine. We are all mature adults and our behaviour was amicable in the sense that we were just chatting away and laughing among ourselves like any other couples would do. We had the misfortune to have our caravan set in view of HIS caravan!!! "Him being the site manager" just after 10pm he came over and said, "come on now then its time for BED!!!!"
We just looked at him dumbfounded, we couldn't believe what we were hearing, he was treating us like kids. I and the others with me tackled him on the way he was speaking to us and all we got in reply was "you lot have been getting on my nerves for the past 5 hours!!! You are talking to loud and its getting on my nerves".
I was so shocked that he should come over at just after 10 to make this complaint!, none of the other campers complained that we were talking to loud! In fact the following morning I passed the time of day with other campers and they never mentioned that we were any way loud. After this we no longer wanted to come back there so the next morning my wife went over the reception to cancel and get our money back and to be faced with the rudeness again of the site manager. "I dont now how to give refunds so come back later!" he said, but my wife was adamant and asked to speak to the owner, when he arrived he was just as rude, pushing the paperwork back in my wife's face saying "you're not getting a refund so go away!!", but my wife held her ground and demanded they give her money back. After an argument they finally gave her money back less the £25 which they kept, we have only now got into caravanning as we are both nurses and being on a tight shift pattern it's easier for us to just hitch up and take off but I will never visit this park again, the place itself I cannot fault, but the people who run it??? OMG we have never experienced people like them, they run it like its some kind of cresh. Stepford springs to mind where everyone puts on a smiley face face but in real are hiding something sinister. Think before you book here, you have been warned!!!!
