Choices Home for Children Ltd in Hazel Grove, Stockport

This is an abusive environment. My younger brother is experiencing bullying from other kids involving them punching him and winding him up. He gets blamed for everything including behaviour of other kids and staff as he is a quiet person. Staff often restrain him and call police for ridiculously petty reasons. This recently involved him being punched on the stomach, groin area as well as giving him a black eye. As well as physical injuries, my brother has suffered a lot of emotional abuse resulting in him being stressed out to the point of kicking/ headbutting a wall, self-harm and even suicide attempts. When this happens, he is shouted at and punished, rather than staff finding a way to better support him. Staff often make false promises, such as allowing him to watch tv. The promises that are made (if kept) give my brother something to look forward to, helping with his mental health, so when these promises are broken, my brother is brought back down to an even lower mental state than he was before. This is a disgrace of a "home" and children are suffering as the cost of this company.

Bullies and abusive is an understatement !!
Poor young people have had enough abuse already in there lives.
OFSTED has received a number of complaints about them !!

Choices "homes" for children is a terrible excuse for a "therapeutic" placement, if you want for your child to be placed in a placement that tells them that no one likes them that they will never amount to anything that they will be on benefits then by all means choices is the place for them, excessive force is used to restrain young people resulting in carpet burns, bruises, ect...face down restraints are used at this facility and children very often suffer emotional and physical injuries from this. They have such good ofstead ratings as they buy the children gifts or bribe them with money before reg44 or social workers come round. The emotional well-being of young people I this establishment is not cared for and young people are often punished for making a complainant to social worker by rooms being stripped or threat of restraint I would not at all recommend a young person to be placed in this prison. The amount of restraints is not acceptable. I hope no one has to go through what I did. View less.
