Wilmond Engineering Co.Ltd in Hitchin

Avoid at all costs! I had a Westfalia / Witter tow bar installed to my 2017 BMW 5 Series Touring which I paid £664.96 to have supplied and fitted directly from Witter. Despite ordering the kit with the BMW wiring loom, the fitter (Wilmond Engineering Co Ltd / Wilmond Towing Centre Ltd in Hitchin) has spliced into my rear wiring loom leaving the cables in a dangerous condition likely to catch fire. The wiring loom had been significantly damaged which resulted in my boot lights not working and a cost to me of £444 for BMW to fix the issue and make it safe which Witter are refusing responsibility for this despite BMW confirming that it was damaged in the same area as the tow bar electrics and would have been damaged by the fitter. The tow bar was poorly mounted and my rear bumper diffuser had been cut away with an angle grinder leaving sharp edges and the tow bar electrics and leaver to remove it unusable which will cost me another £500 to replace. I am now taking this company to court to recover costs which I have incurred in repairing my vehicle.
