My name is John-Paul Mackie and I own and run five pharmacies in the Glasgow area. I pride myself on being an Independent Pharmacy with both community and employee wellbeing at heart.
I graduated with honours from Strathclyde University in 1994. I acquired my first pharmacy in Shawlands in 1999 where I worked over 70 hours a week for 5 years and learned the pivotal roll my pharmacy could play in improving the healthcare of the local community. I have since extended that ethos to my new pharmacies and can regularly be found working on the shop floor ensuring we are delivering top quality healthcare to our local communities.
We also practice what we preach and consider our employee wellbeing as important as our communities. We are a Glasgow Living Wage employer and ensure all our employees receive a fair level of pay for their hard work (Visit www.glasgowlivingwage.co.uk). Furthermore, we encourage our staff to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and provide them with free gym membership.
