VVV Health And Leisure Club
Used to be a great gym: family friendly, wonderful staff, but not that good any more. The equipment on the whole is as old as the place itself, there is very little atmosphere and the toilet facilities leave a lot to be desired, one has been in need of attention for many many months/years and just keeps getting fixed up instead of mending properly.
Often on entering the reception the first thing that greets you is the smell from them, certainly not many of the staff who often do not even acknowledge your existence. A few are very pleasant but there are several who could do with a long course in customer service, they are not all new members of staff either. Classes are geared towards convenience of staff and management and not the customer, bit strange really in a customer orientated industry. Free PT is part of the package but every time you find a decent trainer they seem to go either by their own or management volition.
Most of the very qualified experienced trainers have now left to pursue careers elsewhere.
They offered a really good loyalty scheme which amounted to 25 per cent discount for long serving members, then altered the boundaries which then amounted to 15 per cent because they lowered the options and raised the price at the same time.
It is such a shame, this used to be a lovely gym with the nicest friendliest helpful staff and atmosphere you would wish for, they were so friendly I would never have considerate going elsewhere, but after 15 years and only one of my friends still remaining, I think this will be the last year for me.
