I have been a student of Barrie since I was 13 and he has taught me much more than just drumming. His sense for humour combined with his raw passion and ability within his feels always leave my musical and emotional need sated.

Whether you like Rock or Metal, Latin or Jazz Barrie can do it all and if he hasn't heard of the song you better believe he will know it by your next session.

I have been a student of Barrie's since 1997. And I didn't just learn how to play the drums and percussion by learning simple or complex rudiments or patterns. Barrie teaches his students how to play with feeling to what suits the music. I have always challenged Barrie by giving him music that I wanted to learn in lesson. With his patience and good humour. We learned everything from indie / alternative rock to heavy metal, country, blues, rock and roll, Latin and many other styles. Barrie is a very 'down to earth' and fun teacher and gives his students a proper grounding in their musical education. Being a long time student of Barrie's I have learned a lot about not just the drums but a real rounded understanding of music in general. Barrie comes highly recommended and teaches all age ranges in the right manner.

Having been a student of Barrie's here for the best part of 4 years, I can safely assure that the level of tuition that I have received has been of an exceptional standard. Barrie teaches in such a way that suits your own personal interests in music and focuses on the key areas in which you would like to learn/improve.

From me starting as a complete beginner with no previous drumming experience, I always wanted to become a grade 8 standard player and Barrie has given me the precise knowledge and techniques to get me through each grade in the most simplified and fun way, which has benefited myself as a drummer and helped me get through each grade at a distinction standard.

Top boss! Barrie is a legend when it comes to drumming. If there is something you need to learn Barrie can teach you. He is more than just a teacher, he is a friend. Barrie has an amazing and wide knowledge range with drums, he can play various styles if not all. The main reason Barrie is the best is because there are no mistakes. Any tiny mistake you make he will help iron out. 5* teacher and musician.

Having had more than one drum teacher Barrie is by far the most efficient and technically sound. Other teachers may be good players, but being a good player is simply not enough. Barrie has a tremendous ability to get either a simple or complicated point across. Playing and indeed learning drums with Barrie is a pleasure so I would highly recommend it.

I've been coming to Barrie for a number of years now and I can say from my experience he is a one of a kind teacher. He teaches in a very simple and clear manner so you can quickly and easily understand what it is that's being presented to you. As well as this he also makes you try to understand things for yourself, be it working out a specific rhythm or picking up on when a certain rhythm or note falls in a bar. This enables you to have an even cleared view of what it is your learning as you're also helping yourself making the information more likely to stick into your mind. Alongside his outstanding teaching abilities, Barrie is also a true friend. He has taught me much more than just the drums as well as sharing laughs with each other during the process. You could come to him with any problems you may have and he would give you the best possible advice he could on the subject, and its definitely something worth taking into your stride. I would highly recommend Barrie to anyone whether it being just starting out on the instrument, coming from another teacher, or even picking up where you left off all those years ago. Barrie is certainly a unique character and I do hope he carries on his profession for many years to come.
