Guardian Alarms and Security Systems in Boroughbridge, York

I have a burglar alarm system in the house, followed many years later, by a fully covered outside system. A tv screen in the house showing the outside of the house from all angles. It sounds really good but I can not get them to give me a printed copy of how to work it. I know someone was in my garden earlier this week but I can't find out what the time was or to see who it was. I have not had a demo' on how to use it, and after at least ten years I now have a brochure on how it works for the inside. However, I have been told there is no printed explanation of the outside system, & I have to look on line if I want to know how to work it. I do not want to sit at the computer to learn how to work it. I want to read it , and be able to go back and look things up, when I am sitting with my feet up. My knowledge of computers is very limited and after several strokes my memory is not so good, so I like to learn about it a bit at a time. What if I didn't have a computer at all what then? I didn't think anything was made today with working parts that wasn't fully covered by written instructions.
Re the burglar alarm, it needed a new battery. I was happy to wait until he had time but it started making horrible noises in the night and I couldn't sleep. I took the front off the case for the alarm and wasn't too sure about removing the battery,so I had to call him to remove it. He came on his way home after work and it took max 5 mins to change the battery.which cost £34.00. The bill was £126-84 for 4 mins work, which I think is really rather steep.£71-00 call out is a bit over the top. I know I called him to find out if there was anything on the tape a few weeks after I first had it installed, and when he came it was to find the tape had not been running correctly so it was no help to the police.
However it still cost me over a hundred pounds for the call out.
Am I expecting too much wanting written instructions and a fair deal. ? I think if you are paying over £3,000-00 for something, it should come with printed instructions..
I couldn't even find them on line to look up what they say about their systems. L.J.L
