Adderstone Hall Country House and Holiday Cottages in Belford
Adderstone Hall Country House and Holiday Cottages
An enjoyable week in Northumberland but the cottages are not what they're cracked up to be. Cherry Blossom cottage is big enough for 4 people- sadly elderly mum isolated as access to the others is impossible with walking difficulties, steps or steep hill. The others for 6 were too small, my sister's had no opening windows in the loft space and it was hot. An inattention to detail left us shopping for the promised basic essentials while the silver wine bucket sat unused in the corner.
I would recommend paying more for somewhere with space for the kids to play, dogs to be walked, BBQ cleaned, and no need to share salt and pepper, placemats, pans between all the cottages.
Beware the post man driving irresponsibly every day into the top courtyard with no care for children playing!
It didn't bother us but August is crop time for farmers and tractors came and went well into the night right next to us then lorries to fill up with grain.
Generally mid quality- not luxurious.
