Campervantastic Ltd in London

Had quite a bad experience with this company recently. We hired a T5 campervan to take the kids away. We're responsible hirers, followed all instructions to the letter. When we got back, they said we'd frayed the pop up roof and they charged us £800 for a new one!! Importantly, the roof wasn't lifted to check all was in order at the time of hiring - so we can't prove it wasn't us. There's no option to have this covered by insurance. No idea if we caused the damage or whether it was pre-existing, but if we did, beware, the same can easily happen to you. Turns out there are a lot of people online saying there is a design fault with the VW T5 pop up roofs as they just damage too easily when putting up or down. By the time we'd finished paying for campsites and diesel, I'm not sure this was a cheaper option than hotels & car to begin with. When they add a whopping £800 damage bill to the visa card just before Christmas it certainly wasn't value! Could have stayed in some extremely nice hotels for that price, rather than a squished campervan all week. Avoid.
