Dreadful-Nightmare. We live mostly abroad and thought we could trust them, huge mistake; SOME of our experiences, follow.
Estimates always had those unavoidable extra's arrive all the time, so added £1000's to a job, always when we are abroad and they need permission, now; Never did they advise on planning control and what was required, this added so much to several jobs. Gave false information on one planning control requirement and wanted me to pay, I went to the council and found the real truth.
Shame in all this, is that any fault was not theirs, it was yours - the weather -sub contractor - holiday period - cold weather – Father Christmas – but never them.
I no longer believe anything on their web site or what they would tell me, jobs started in 2015 were still unfinished in June 2016.
Quality of the work was substandard my surveyor condemned a lot of it and said not to pay. Received in error an internal e-mail of how to get more money out of me. Invoices were another cause for concern. Had to ask them to stop work and leave, that is when even more “extra's“ were found and more surprise invoices. Then I was threatened with legal action in the most unpleasant way.
Have contact with several other victims and their tales are very sad, some on gagging orders. Do not believe all those logs they carry. I have a huge file and photo's of all I claim and not once did they even come to look at all the errors, sadly, to complain will result in unpleasant replies. I have employed building companies to renovate property over 50 yrs and this was by far the worst experience I have ever had.
