Chicago Pizza in St. Helens

I have been a regular customer of Chicago Pizza for almost a year and up until last night I was very happy with the food and service. I went into the shop every week with my friend from St. Helens and the food was always top quality. We also got on very well with the owner who was always friendly and generous with us. On weeks when my friend went to the shop without me the owner would even ask "where's your Irish mate?" so we were well known and valued customers. However, after the treatment we received last night we will NEVER be going back there again.

We had recently begun ordering deliveries from the company instead of going to the shop. Last week we ordered a big delivery to my other friend's house which is on number 5 of his street. The food arrived quickly and there were no issues.

However, last night (26th November 2013) we ordered another delivery to the same place on number 5 of my friend's street. We waited over an hour but the food never arrived. Finally my friend received a phone call from the delivery driver. The driver asked for the address again which my friend repeated. To my friend's shock the driver then became abusive because he had been told to go to number 14 instead of number 5. He began yelling obscenities at my friend over the phone - calling him a "mot*****ker" and other things. My friend was upset and had to hang up the phone as the verbal abuse did not stop. I then telephoned the company to ask where our food was. To my amazement, the guy on the phone said "we're not delivering now because the boss has gone to the police station to report you." He then accused me of being a hoax caller and said that I had told him to deliver to number 14 instead of number 5. I explained three times that he had misheard me and that the order was for number 5. I then asked again when we would be receiving our food. He then said "I don't know. I'll have to wait until the boss gets back." I then told him that this was completely unacceptable and that we'd already waited over an hour for our food. At that point he just hung up the phone on me. We never received our food.

Words cannot describe how absolutely disgusted my friends and I are about how we were treated. We were regular loyal customers but we were treated like criminals and scum when the delivery driver used abusive language and the guy on the phone accused us of intentionally giving the wrong address. We will NEVER be ordering from Chicago Pizza again as we are so appalled by their treatment of us.
