Not good, chicken like rubber knife would not cut it, burnt chips and raw veg not aldenti. The chef went off in a paddy when told food bad, and next table got hairs on her steak, no apology, also charged me £8.80 for two Bacardi cokes, complained and got £2.40 back, first and last time at this place.
We decided to try travellers rest based on a friend's recommendation, and we will definitely be regulars!
The food was fresh and tasted superb. Well presented too! I had a delicious steak while my partner went for the langustines, which were juicy and cooked to perfection. We then had some fantastic desserts. Staff was really friendly and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I cannot rate this restaurant highly enough, a must try, you won't be disappointed.
Went last night for evening meal as we had heard about the new owners, and we were pleasantly surprised. We had one of the most amazing fillet of haddock I've ever tasted, absolutely delicious. Dressed in chilli, lime and pepper, it came with fresh salad and perfectly cooked chips. The service was great too, the new owners are very pleasant and make you feel welcome. I would recommend the Travellers Rest, lovely place, we will go back soon.
Visited last Sunday, the place was very busy! Staff were great, they were smiling, found us a table and served us the best Sunday beef roast I've ever had!
Vegetables were cooked to perfection and portions were very generous. Nice, lovely food, and plenty of it. If you are in the area, Travellers Rest is definitely a must! We will be visiting again.
