Please take my advice and choose a different builder! He made lots of empty promises and then just made my life hell for 2 months- saying they would show up and then not- for up to a week at a time! Doing shoddy work- like not scraping out the old mortar when they re-pointed my chimney, mixing the cement with loads of dish soap instead of using a proper product, making a mess in the area where they worked, and he supposedly replaced a few roofing pieces- all of which I have since found laying on the ground at the side of my house! They all fell off!

My experience of K & M Pointing:

1. The job was started two weeks later than Ken agreed. There's nothing wrong with this but it would have been nice for Ken to let us know what was happening.

2. Ken sent a young guy to remove the old pointing from the front of our three-storey house and after he raked it all out we realised he hadn't gone deep enough. He then had to come back and do the job again.

3. During the raking out the guy seriously scratched a large number of bricks, we have been quoted several thousand pounds by a company to get new ones sourced and the damaged ones replaced.

4. Ken refused to rectify the scratched bricks and said he wanted to get paid and we should find someone else to point it. All he is interested in is making a quick buck and is happy to do a shoddy job.
