In the Peak District, on the edge of the village of Bamford in the Hope Valley, close to the station. A great base for walking, cycling, climbing and other outdoor pursuits. Near to Ladybower and Derwent Dams. Only 5 minutes by car to Hathersage where there is an outdoor heated swimming pool.
Swallowholme is a small family run site. In addition to Seasonal Pitches there are also pitches for touring caravans, motorhomes and tents. Recently refurbished toilet and shower block with free showers. Washing up area and laundry sink. Local amenities close-by including a 24 hour mini-market.
Sickleholme Golf Course is only 100 yards across the road. Bamford has a public house, recreation ground with childrens play area, Post Office Bakery and Village shop. There are also two garden centres within walking distance of the site. Bus stops are close by with buses to Hathersage, Hope, Castleton and Bakewell. The River Derwent runs alongside the site.
River fishing allowed for those staying on site subject to current fishing licence. The site has plenty of wildlife including ducks, weasels, rabbits, owls, pheasants and many other species of birds. Sorry but dogs are not allowed.
