My family and I spent a lovely week at Pebbles chalet in Gwithian sands in August, The Chalet was very clean and spacious but before I begin the rundown I shall start by saying this..having come from London by train due to a rubbish car, I absolutely could have Kissed Sarah for leaving the wonderful arrival treat of delicious scones fresh clotted cream and mmmmmjam!! The delight of sitting on the veranda with a cuppa and scone was worth the whole train malarkey...
Anyway away from my tummy and back to Pebbles.
Blue & cutesy a little beach heaven, that's just the outside. Inside the spacious inviting semi open plan kitchen has all you need right down to icepacks for ya picnic!! We had lovely meals round the table, and the fresh flowers left by Sarah kept the kitchen cheery all week too. There were cleaning products under the sink to help keep the place clean as well. The fridge was brill for drinks as it kept them perfectly cold, beware how much frozen produce you buy as there is only a small freezer compartment which was perfectly sufficient for our little family of 4. My 12 year old daughter would like to add that the kitchen was pretty and fresh.

The kitchen has an open wall counter leading to the frontroom, even the countertop is equipped with a speaker dock for your ipod.

The frontroom is spacious and benefits from having a full glass wall with patio doors that lead to the veranda, lovely for opening up to the blue skies in the morning. There is a Small flatscreen T.V but reception is not fabulous though, there are even some dvd's of various choices. A stereo which was handy to put on every morning for weather updates and surf news such as tide times. The sofa/bed was a bit dated and uncomfy and as there was only one other chair we had to take turns each evening sitting in different spots. The room would perhaps benefit from a corner sofa and a pouffe, but if your out most of the time its not a major issue. The frontroom has an easy clean floor so the masses of golden Gwithian sand that you bring back in daily is easily dealt with.

The Master bedroom is just off of the frontroom as is the passageway to the bathroom and 2nd bedroom. The room has a lovely comfy memory foam bed for you to sink into and plenty of cupboard and hanging space. It is airy and clean and has 2 windows, front (veranda) and side facing, I loved the door stop (clever and cute) and the general spacious and summery feel of the room.

The passage has a cupboard containing a fab barbecue, parasol for the table on the veranda and some other bits and pieces too, such as an ironing board etc.
The 2nd bedroom is also delightful, two sturdy single beds and a chest of drawers is all that is needed here, plenty of foot space for the kids to play a game or two...(just peek under the bed for a box of surprises! ) the window looks out onto a palm tree, hang a piece of toast and watch the birds! There appears to be an old resident magpie who pops down most mornings to say hello.

The Shower room is also spacious and the shower is large and adequately powerful. Again very clean, and the window looks out onto the same palm tree as the bedroom.

The high ceilings add to the feeling of space, considering they are only Chalets they feel incredibly large.
We were very warm as the heating is brilliant, though we had a little trouble with understanding the digital radiator in the main room which was different to all the rest , but we soon realised we really didn't need it. Though we didn't call apart from to say thank you for the yummy arrival treats, Sarah and her husband are just a call away and assured us to call if we needed anything. Having met them on our last day we found them to be a very warm and welcoming couple and very very helpful.

THE AREA
There is a small but well stocked and inexpensive shop on site, but if you have no car and are not up for walks Gwithian may not be for you, as shops and other facilities are about 30 mins away, but if you do your in for a treat!
We had no car but are happy walkers anyway, we loved the sand dunes and getting lost in them too which is easily done so do take a torch incase evening befalls you. Sand surfing the high dunes is waaaay too much fun for an adult... so do have a go!! The endless beauty of Gwithians dunes is captivating, an artist's dream. With gorgeous views down to the golden sandy beach and a whole host of beaches in walking distance including a nice long one to the stunning Carbis bay, you are spoilt for choice. A walk down to the old church road may give you a glimpse of the seal colony there. The Riviera sands resort at the far end of the beach has a useful bar restaurant, swimming pool and surf shop to take advantage of it also has the most stunning views. The beach is simply beautiful the waters are crystal clear but slightly chilly. Its a lovely 15 minute walk down to the beach across the dunes once you know the way its really barely 10 don't be frightened to ask. But you basically turn right and walk to the end of the path outside the chalet, go up into the dunes and look down you should see a black gravel path follow it partly then off to the right down thru the grassy dunes.

I would ideally give a 5 STAR rating, but for the uncomfy sofa and no iron with the board at the time, and also checkout time is a bit too early. But those minor fixable issues aside, we really had a lovely time... I forgot to mention the stars... oooh the starry starry nights on the veranda. On a clear night you can see sooo much, we saw a comet like shooting star big enough to unnerve our son into thinking it was a crashing ufo!!! Just grab a blanket the reclining chair is fab. Oh and its called pebbles so on a rainy day we painted some pebbles (the ones outside) we got the paints from the onsite shop, but also left some in the bag in the box of games. Have fun!!!
Sooo in short,.. lol GO TO GLORIOUS GOLDEN GWITHIAN and unwind have fun see the sights eat scones, paint stones walk swim and let life in !! :)
