What a great Firday evening at Yuzu! We had:

Starters:
Gyoza - prawns were fresh and fabulous
Chicken Fillet Katsu - crispy and flavourful

Main:
Scallop Don - scallop excellent quality, and rice cooked to perfection
Teriyaki Salmon - probably the best salmon I've ever tasted, no exaggeration!
Veg tempura - slightly disappointing, still good but normal compared to the rest of the food

All in all, we really enjoyed our food and will be certainly coming back.

Unlike some other newly opened japanese restaurants in Manchester, Yuzu is a cozy, no frills little place, where substance is more important than appearances. The sashimi mori is to die for. To have such a great sashimi you need to have really fresh food, and their tuna, salmon, prawn and scallop absolutely meet this key requirement! Great sashimi really, our absolute favourite and one of the best we've ever had. Last time we went we decided to try something different and went for the chicken katsu, phenomenal! The fillet was soft and moist while the breadcrumbs on the outside were crunchy and tasty. We also had prawn gyoza, which was delicious and very pleasing.
I would recommend Yuzu to anyone who likes Japanese cuisine, great food at reasonable prices.

A great little japanese with no pretension but great value, Kaisen Don was spectacular, it included tuna, scallop, prawn and salmon with sushi rice. All ingredients were clearly very fresh, and the chicken fillet katsu was a real surprise! A sip of sake at the end and we were sold :) I recommend Yuzu, we will definitely revisit.

Came to Manchester from Belfast on a business trip and ended up at Yuzu on a colleague's recommendation. What a pleasant surprise! Simple and fresh dishes that bring the flavours of traditional Japan straight to Manchester. My sashimi (maguro don) was delicious and the tuna was really fresh, and my colleague had a wonderful chicken katsu. Our assorted tempura was also excellent, not oily at all and very crispy as it should be. Excellent, excellent place, a must if you love japanese food!

Service can be a bit slow at times, but if you like Japanese food this is definitely worth the wait! Noodle dishes are always good, gyozo are very fresh, but our favourites are mixed pickles and tempura udon soup noodles, mmmm! Prices are reasonable too, recommended.

Best Japanese restaurant in Manchester, hands down! Fantastic lunch including a main and miso soup, great value for money. The food is always fresh and very well presented. The staff are very friendly and polite. This is my go-to place when I want to eat japanese in Manchester.
