Hartley Estates in Rothley, Leicester

To all who are considering the use of Hartleys in Rothley - beware - the service is appalling and their attitude once you have sold is even worse.. The firm is no longer a "family owned" business operated by the Hartleys, it has been bought out.

The attitude of the Manager and her staff within the Rothley branch is condescending in the extreme and they are more interested in buyers than the vendors ! As you would expect from an estate agent, there is no acceptance of any failure in service from them and their delivery is not based on a required/expected level of service.

The response from the new owner is that "sales progressing and conveyancing is not the obligation of estate agents" !! Well if they don't do that, then what is the purpose of their supposed service ?

The service within the Rothley branch was so bad that we ended up calling the other estate agents above and below us in the chain to find out what was happening with regard to the chain - the Rothley branch couldn't even tell us how many houses were in the chain !

We found it totally deplorable, and what we expected from the estate agency business, that this branch of Hartleys is now not capable of delivering the quality of service that you would expect when selling your house. I can only hope and pray that this branch obtains the reputation that it rightly and richly deserves as it runs what was once a well respected family business into the ground.
