We are the original makers of the famous Royal Sussex Trug, first made by Thomas Smith in the village of Herstmonceux in 1829. He made Trugs famous by selling some personally to Queen Victoria at The Great Exhibition in London in 1851. Our Trugs are still make almost entirely by hand, in our own workshops here in Sussex. Come and see our craftsmen and women at work and buy your very own Trug! There are lots of different styles and sizes to choose from.
