I arranged a party for my son at Laser run. Unfortunately once it had started we found that seven people had not turned up. I approached the staff politely and asked about a possible refund as the party was 13.50 a head. I was not expected a full refund but as a gesture of good will maybe a part refund or a free trip to laser run for my two children. I was extremely annoyed when I was told that there was nothing they could do. But as always and after eight years of working with customers in my own job I was polite and never raised my voice or spoke rudely. I felt that it was pretty much we have your money and we couldn't care less. I said that I would contact my corporate solicitor before writing a review to check that I was within the letter of the law. Also that I would write a review on every site I could find. None of this was said directly to the staff but to my friend I had with me.
Then I am told the owner is coming in and I thought "excellent, I can get this sorted out". I was sat talking to the parents when someone came up behind me, leaned over me and shouts, I quote, "I am the owner and I hear you have a problem with me". I seriously thought he was going to hit me. I replied calmly "I don't think it is appropriate to talk in here, can we take it outside" to which he shouted "We can do it here". I just wanted to get out from where there were children and defuse this volatile situation. All I had done was complain. He was extremely aggressive towards me. Talking to him got me nowhere. What is more worrying is that he has all my details and contact number. Though he did not threaten to come to my house, this is why I contacted police. I did not imagine that anything like this would ever happen and ruined my child's birthday party. Totally, totally disgusting behaviour and I will never be going there again and will recommend that no other parent has a party there. If you do, do not complain about anything at all.
Really poor value. There are other much better value activities out there, so don't waste your time with this one. The premises are pretty shabby-looking and very little actual play time. Definitely first and last time I will visit. Everything on their website implied play time of about 1 hour (including safety video and kitting up). For example: "Special Half Term Offer: 3 games of Laser-Run (which takes about an hour)". So I took a group of 7 kids at £12. 50 each, expecting them to be in about 1 hour (as that what the website led me to believe) but they were turned out after 35 minutes (including safety video and kitting up). I queried this at the time, saying to staff that it seemed very short and they just said bluntly that the kids had had 3 games. Unfortunately, I wasn't in a position to argue further as I had to sort out what to do with the kids. When I queried later, Laser-Run claimed that the kids had had 3 games of about 12 minutes per game - even if that was the case, that would only be 35 minutes play time which was well below the expectation set by the website. I estimate we had more like 25 minutes. Go elsewhere!
