Crewe Clocks and Watch Repair in Crewe

I had my watch repaired here. The crown had broken. I was charged £75 for the repair. I was quoted £60 for a stainless steel crown or £140 for a genuine Raymond Weil crown. I asked for the stainless steel crown as I could not afford £140 before Christmas.

When I left my watch for repair I left with it the genuine Raymond Weil crown that had fallen off and I had managed to find.

When I returned to collect my watch was told a new Raymond Weil crown had been fitted. When I asked where my broken crown was, I was told "it's probably been thrown in the bin". I asked if my old crown had been used in the repair and the lady did not know, I said I was not happy about this. Any jewellery/battery repairs I have ever had done the old parts have always been returned as proof of the repair or replacement.

In short what I believe has taken place is that I have been charged £75 to re fit my old crown. This is nothing short of bad business, dishonesty and ripping people off. I could have understood a labour charge for the re fit but telling lies about fitting a new part when clearly it is my old crown is atrocious. I have rung a reputable jeweller and they do not make the part for my watch anymore. I am disputing the payment with my credit card company also.

I would never use nor recommend these people again.
