Sam Stothers Repairs in Belfast

Sam Stothers called after I rang him about a dishwasher issue. He arrived in good time with his daughter. Worked at the machine and after 15 minutes said it was fixed. He let me hear it run charged me £65 of which was £35 call out. Any eay after 10 mins the dishwasher stopped again. Called Sam and he came back the next day( fixed it) again and it broke down again. I tried ringing him again . No answer. Then got through. As far as he was concerned he fixed it. It ended up it was broken. He had supplied it to me as well. 2 weeks out of warrenty. I had to get a new one and will not be using this horrible man again.

I messaged Sam to see if he could look at our broken dishwasher. At no point did he state he charged a callout fee via message or when he arrived at the house. He was on site for 8 minutes, said it would be better to replace the dishwasher and asked my partner for £45. While my partner thought this seemed unreasonable, he assumed it had been agreed in advance and so paid. When I messaged Sam he said he doesn't tell people there is a callout charge unless they ask. I haven't personally encountered this from a tradesperson before, so just want to make others aware that this is the case.

Terrible experience. Washer is in worse shape than before he came to 'fix' it the first day and he also didn't show up to repair it the next day for the second time. Waste of time.
