The Midland hotel in Matlock Bath is one hell of a place to eat!
This casual restaurant/pub sits right next to spectacular river which you can take your drink or food down there and watch the wildlife till your hearts content The staff are all very friendly and they are there working very hard indeed. You are sure a great welcome from the friendly staff and the guys that own it... They are all very welcoming to any stranger as well as regulars. You can just nip in for a quick drink or stop and dine because you will never find food as good as this pub.
All the other pubs use process food and it is very rare you can find homemade food served these days. Children are also welcome as they have highchairs. And you can dine in the conservatory that looks out onto the old bridge All food is homemade and they are all men that cook it ..But believe me it tastes just like grandma used to make. The roast dinners are delicious and leaving you wanting more... no more watery gravy this is the best gravy I have ever tasted...
Your taste buds will just excel yourself because if you are on a diet beware do not eat here because the food is so good you will break your diet rules. If you are looking for very good food, friendly servers, and a beautiful, relaxing setting at the back of the pub then this is the pub to eat. Top Tip tray the homemade steak and kidney pie is just mouthwatering with big chunks of steak that just fall to pieces in your mouth... This pub deserves the recognition for its food as well as for its surroundings.
